Billing and refunds

credit reservations

Credits are reserved when a stage starts, not billed once it finishes. The reservation settles the moment the stage emits its output, and those credits are then spent. A stage that halts instead releases its reservation back to your balance by itself — no request to file, nobody to ask — so a job that broke is not a job you paid for.

Credits already settled against finished work are not refundable. The stage ran, the artefact is in your account, and the machine time behind it was bought and used.

unspent top-ups

A top-up you have not drawn against reverses in full, on request, for the 14 days that follow the purchase, so long as none of it has been spent. Draw on part of it and the untouched remainder still comes back, valued at the rate that top-up was bought at.

delivery of a run

Nothing is shipped. What you buy is machine time and the file it produces, so there is no delivery charge, no customs entry and no parcel to wait on. Top-up credits are added to the balance as soon as the payment is authorised and are spendable at once; subscription credits are added when a new billing period opens. Each payment emits a receipt and a sequential invoice, filed under Billing → Payments and copied to you by email. An authorised payment that has not become credits an hour later is a fault: report it, and we either put it right or return the money in full.

buyer requirements and prohibited output

Purchases are for people of 18 or over. The service is shut off in any territory whose law or sanctions rules forbid its use. It may not be pointed at unlawful material, at anything that infringes another party’s rights, at defamation, or at a real person put on screen without their say-so. We may refuse a transaction that crosses one of those lines, or unwind it afterwards; where the credits from it are still unspent, the whole amount goes back.

amounts, currency and card handling

The figure, the currency and what it buys are on the payment screen before you confirm, so no amount is ever taken that you have not read. We charge in USD — whichever you select at checkout is the currency the charge is taken in, and the currency a refund returns in. Value added tax, where it applies, sits inside the price and appears as a line of its own on the invoice we raise against each paid transaction. A conversion or foreign transaction fee added by your own bank belongs to the bank rather than to us: a refund returns what we charged, and cannot return what they added.

Payment leaves the browser encrypted over TLS and is authorised by Mastercard Payment Gateway Services, which holds the card data to PCI DSS. No full card number and no security code is stored on our servers; the data we keep lists what is. Where your issuer calls for it, 3-D Secure runs before the authorisation.

the monthly charge and how to halt it

A subscription re-charges the same card every month at the price checkout displayed, and keeps doing so until you halt it. The next date and the exact figure sit on your Billing page throughout, and every charge is receipted by email.

Halting one takes one click in Billing. No call, no email, no reason to give, no notice to serve — and the next charge simply never happens. The cycle you have already bought is not cut short by it: the cycle expires on the date it was always going to expire on, its credits stay spendable up to that date, and a part-used cycle is not divided up, unless the charge itself was faulty or a consumer right that cannot be waived says otherwise.

retries after a decline

A renewal your bank declines goes back on the queue on a published schedule (after 1, 3, 5 days), with an email at each attempt. One period is presented at most 4 times in total. Access holds through a 7-day grace period, and the subscription expires at the end of it. Nothing is ever presented against a card once the plan has been halted.

billing errors and outages

A duplicate transaction, a charge taken after a cancellation had already gone through, a charge for a figure other than the one you approved, a billing bug of ours: each goes back to the method that paid it, whole, the moment it is verified, and how much of the service you used in between does not come into it.

Where a paid part of the runner is out for a prolonged period through a fault on our side, you pick the remedy — the affected amount back on the balance as credits, or back on the card.

refund requests, disputes and the seller

Use the contact form, with the invoice number Billing → Payments prints against the charge. Every request is acknowledged in 2 business days, and the outcome comes back to you in writing.

A refund is returned to the card or method that paid for the charge and to nothing else: a different card, cash and a bank transfer are all out, and it can never exceed the original amount. We hand it to the gateway inside 5 business days of approving it, after which the pace is your issuer’s, and 5–10 business days before the line shows on a statement is normal.

Raise it with us before you raise it with your bank. A statement line you cannot place, a renewal you meant to halt, a duplicate — each is closed out here in far less time than a chargeback takes, and we would sooner pay it back than defend it. Open a dispute anyway and we will cooperate with your issuer, handing it the authorisation record, the invoice, and the evidence that the credits were delivered.
