A subscription lowers the price of a credit and leaves everything else alone. Stopping one takes a single click, and the month you have paid for is still yours to spend.
Or never subscribe at all
Credits can be bought outright, 10 of them for each USD 1, and they keep until you have a use for them. Nothing recurs unless you ask it to.
